public transportation usage
Ladies, how do you feel?

About men you don’t know that refer to you as “Baby”, “Honey”, “Slim”, or any of those other pet names?

This one time I was coming out of a bathroom and two men stepped in front of me. One of the men stepped back to let me pass, while saying ” Go ‘head, baby, you got it.”

And then there was this other time I was on public transportation when this man asked to sit next to me. I scooted over so he could sit next to the window. He sat with his body angled towards me and his arm behind my seat. I asked him if he could move over some and he said “This is as far as I can get, baby.”

Needles to say both times I felt a little irritated by their usage of the word so loosely with women they do not know.

So, the question once again is: Ladies, how do you feel about men you don’t know that refer to you as “Baby”, “Honey”, “Slim”, or any of those other pet names?

I am with you and feel uncomfortable when it happens to me. It is more of a statement to their character than anything really – and def. does not lead you to want to know them any better – it is just NOT an educated respectful way to approach anyone.
