DC trip from Washington DC to NY using Bolt or Megabus? (Also posted in another forum; not sure where to put)?
I am planning on taking one of the cheaper bus lines like Bolt or Megabus from DC to NY to see a friend then am coming back that same night. My questions are these: 1. If I chose to take a bus that does not come back into the DC area (around Gallery Place/Chinatown) until midnight or later how dangerous is it to walk to the Metro station from the bus stop alone? 2. How dangerous is it to take public transportation in New York City (subway, bus, etc) alone? Is it more dangerous after dark? 3. Has anyone taken Bolt or Megabus to NY before? If so do you have any tips?
I not taken MegaBus yet, but starting, January 6th until March 10th, MEGA Bus will ofer 10,000 seats by using promotional code GETAWAY, but not all seats are free. On internet reservation, 50 cent surchage will applied.
All major transportation center are safe with security, police, militaries who keeps eyes on terror.
