Commuting to school question…..?

Hi,
I just moved to Raleigh and I am going to State in the spring. I need a roommate and I would like to live with someone I know. I have a friend that lives in Fayetteville NC and told me that if I didn’t mind commuting to school that I could be her roommate. I go to school 2 days a week. I am not sure if its worth it or not. Its expensive to live in Raleigh so I am not sure if it would be cheaper to commute especially since I would have a roommate. I have 2.5 years left in school. Does anyone know if this is wise or has experience with commuting.

Well, we all know that recent drop in gas prices is temporary. We’ll probably be back to $3 or $4/gallon gas again long before you graduate. I’d keep that in mind. And the main highways between Raleigh and Fayetteville are notorious for horrible traffic conditions.

If it were me, I’d stick with Raleigh. If you’re only in class 2 days a week, I am assuming you’ll have a part-time job on the side? Raleigh would have way more opportunities for that than Fayetteville would.
