While I very genuinely support you in your quest to help protect the environment and save money I in no way condone the proliferation of public transportation into the state of Maine.
I’d love to see more carpooling/ride sharing but not public transportation.
First of all, the logistics of incorporating a public transportation system to isolated areas becomes very complex and costly. Sending a bus out in a 100 mile loop to collect it’s 10 riders takes a huge amount of time and fuel.
The fact that a lot of Maine is desolate is what keeps a lot of people away, and one of Maine’s best characteristics is that it’s sparsely populated.
