Carpool in Singapore – any information?
Hi. I have just moved houses – and am a little bit outside Singapore. I am at the Bukit Timah/Shelford Road Area. I have been trying to get a carpool to Orchard Road (not that far I have been told but as I am not very familiar with Singapore, it’s still a bit of a problem).
Is there any place/site where I can post say an ad for a carpool? Are carpools even a “thing” in Singapore? Is there like a website where I Can go?
If you live near Shelford Road/on Shelford Road, would you be willing to share a ride and drop me off at my office along Orchard Road (beside Plaza Singapura)? Of course, I am willing to pay for my ride.
Thanks very much.
Carpools are an informal thing in Singapore, no one has actively gone out to create such a scheme. So if you have friends or know of people keen on a Carpool, you can start one for yourself and them.
But I do suppose that most Singaporeans prefer driving their own cars, rather than sharing cars because of the convenience factor. Alternatively, many will take to public transport to get to work whilst leaving the car at home or somewhere near the MRT Station.
