public transportation vancouver to victoria
Hotels Under $ 100/night in July? And what to pack?

Anything easily accessible by public transport or within 30 minutes walk the ferry terminal. I do not require much attention or service, just a clean and safe to sleep. I am generally more comfortable in a group 2 – or 3 – Star small motel-type place in a good neighborhood. I want to take the ferry to Victoria / Vancouver. I was in Vancouver before and loved the ferry. I see no better way to relieve stress in a short time on a budget. Also, how much wind or rain can I expect in July? I understand that it is warm enough (weather.com), but probably by the water cooler? I like to wear skirts and flowy dresses, which is not possible in San Francisco. Do I need a lot of sweaters, a heavy coat? Or can I wear a t-shirt and light jacket? Other advice for a woman traveling only ones not interested in tourist traps, is very appreciated and I try to Seattle, WA, not Chicago ..

Try the Inn at Eastlake Eastlake Ave E. It is approximately 15 minutes from downtown on bus # 70 which runs in front of the motel, all 15 minutes. Eastlake is very quiet, safe neighborhood and there are several neat cafes within a couple of blocks in the motel (Louisa's is perfect for breakfast or lunch, 14 Carrot Cafe is a MUST for breakfast, and surprise surprise, there's even a Starbucks). Regarding the clothes, I'd say you're done with your skirts and dresses, definitely wear a coat of light rain (not too hot … just a "shell"), and a sweater for the evenings. We are in a "The Nina "year which means cooler and wetter than normal. It was a rough spring so far and we are all still waiting for the sun! Thus, while in July May normally being the best months to visit, you never know. There is no ferry from Seattle to Vancouver, just the Clipper Victoria in Victoria, then you can take a ferry from Victoria, Canada in Vancouver.
