Is it possible to drive from Rhode Island to California and back in 17 days?

On July 25, a friend and I are going on a road trip in California. We two days stops in Chicago, Wisconsin Rapids, and Ogden, Utah. The rest of our stops will be overnighters in some cities. I wanted to know if there was someone else there who made a similar journey. It seems that most of the trip will be to conduct and we will miss a lot of visits. I know we will not be able to see everything in every city, but I do not want to be just the trip to see view from the window of a car. I do not know if I will be able to extend the trip to three weeks. It would have been better, but we can not take more time off work. So if anyone has insight, if Please share it with me. Well, I understand that this is the road trip to end all trips! I would say that it is feasible depending on how long you want to spend in each city. I live about 90 miles east of Chicago and we used to drive to Los Angeles to visit my grandmother almost every summer. Just the trip can take about 4 days. Looking at your itenerary, I would certainly take more than a day in Chicago, you can not do it justice in less than two days. I would also intend to spend a few days in Las Vegas (LOL, I was in Las Vegas for three days last summer, it was not enough!) As Phoenix and Los Angeles, you may want to spend more than 24 hrs. San Diego is gorgeous too! Feasible in 17 days … probalby. Realistic 17 days? Not sure, I'd probably play it by ear. Enjoy!
