Cheap transportation from Chicago to the East Coast?
East Coast and I mean specifically as big as New York City, Boston, Philadelphia. I looked in Megabus, but apparently the farthest it goes (Chicago) is Cleveland. Amtrak is quite expensive, and in fact can be even more expensive than airfare. The only thing I can think of is Rideshare, but I was wondering if you guys know about any other service Bus Megabus budget similar to, but goes further?
Unless you plan to make the stop, the flight is by far the cheapest as long as you plan to advance. You can fly from O'Hare to Atlantic City on Spirit Air for a rock bottom $ 145 RT. There is a shuttle bus to the train station commuter where you can take the train to Philadelphia, or take a taxi or shuttle in Atlantic City where there are many cheap buses in New York. Or you can usually find flights to New York for under $ 200 RT on United States or United, which works much the same if your destination is New York. In any case, when you figure in the food and the hassle of going by bus to get there in a few hours by plane for less than $ 100 each way is the way to go.
Love you Mol
