How to configure SPD?

I specialized Sirrus Comp 2004, which has a pedal flat on one side and Shimano 505 spd pedals on the other side. I recently bought a pair of shoes Specialized Body Geometry MTB cycling that I wanted to go automatic but I can not get this set up right. No matter what I do I seem to have knee pain during my trip. If I ride with trainers on the normal flat portion of the pedal I get no such problems. How are you setting these things right? Any help appreciated as it really begins to annoy me now.

This sounds like a total pain in the @ $ $, but it's the best way I found and it becomes easier and you do it. Put your shoes on. Feel for the last knuckle where your big toe starts, and put a mark on the sole of the shoe right under the middle of this bone. It is the center of the ball of your foot and your cleat should be focused on that. Put a little blue Loctite on the screws to prevent rusting, and downs tight enough to prevent them from moving. Who takes care of the front and back positioning, but the rest is a little more difficult. Now look at the bottom of the shoe. You want the tab to point a little to your big toe rather than directly on the center. It is a starting point, but perhaps not the final placement. Adjust the direction of the cleats so they are both about the same, making sure not to move forward or backward from your center mark. Tighten the clamps on pretty good, enough so that they do not move when you clip in. Add a drop of lubricant in the chain front and rear of each cleat, put your shoes and stand on a flat surface without clipping in. Make mental notes of how far your heels are far from the image when you pedal. Where each foot is positioned during your pedal stroke? Now clip in one foot at a time (the lubricant makes it easier to feel the cleat position neutral in the pedal) and note the differences between cut in and not. Want to place your heel to the outside? T is feeling like you want your right knee? Does it feel right? Think about where you want your foot to be neutral point of the pedal. Do each foot separately and adjust one at a time. Unclip and you follow these instructions: 1. Think about that cleat adjustment how far from your image you want to be your heel. This easy reference. Take off your shoe search tab. 2. If you need your heels to get closer to the image (or your knee to bend a bit), loosen the latch point and slightly to your big toe. 3. If you need your heel to be further from the picture (or your knee to be right), point the tab a little more toward the center of the tip of the shoe. REMEMBER: Just a small adjustment to make a difference, and adjust each according to your comfort. Each foot may even be slightly different from each other, and that's fine. Make your adjustment of a shoe at a time, then clip and see how your changes felt. I know that it takes time, but your knees to thank you for time.
