Where to live in the bay area when travelling to Mountain View?

best place to live for a young guy with max of 1-1.25 hr commute when working in Mountain View? I am thinking about san fran somewhere close to a caltrain station..any suggestions? will i be able to get a 1br/1ba or studio for less than $1500? or is castro st in mountain view better?

Well, I’d recommend South Beach by the 4th and King Caltrain station, but unless you share an apartment $1500 probably wouldn’t cut it. Maybe the 22nd Street stop, though it’s not as nice a place to live.

If you’re working for Google find out where the Google Bus stops, and look for apartments around there.

Mountain View is decent but not exactly exciting. A bit suburban but at least there is good food on Castro. Cheaper than SF, but not cheap.
