How do I know if he likes me?

so im really good friends with this boy, we carpool, and we almost went to New York with my mother and her mother. I really like him. my friend asked if he would ask me out and he told me that I would never ask but this is a wiual ago. She asked him if he loved me resently and he said no. Does he really not like me or is it just so I pretended not to know? he said not everyone looks at me and I guess a lot, but then he ignores me somtimes Skool. perposly it dosent tell me who he just loves Anoy for me. help!
